Lignite, generally yellow to dark brown in colour, is regarded as brown coal. It is a major source for producing power and electricity. GMDC has helped expand Lignite-mining operations in the state. We mine Lignite from Tadkeshwar, Surkha North, AMOD G-19 Extension, Mata No Madh and Umarsar, located in Kutch, South Gujarat, Surat and Bhavnagar regions.
